2. Have Fun!

Just because it's called “obedience” training, doesn't mean that you have to carry it out using rigid rules and regulations. Please bear in mind that the Labrador has no idea why training is a must for him.

So in order for your Labrador to respond effectively to your instructions, the training must be conducted in a manner that enables him to view the process as something that is totally fun.

3. Training Methods.

Labrador retriever obedience training can be a bit tricky if one does not decide beforehand what sort of methods to apply in training.

Obedience training provides your Labrador the space to channel his skills, energy and actions. This in turn, teaches him to become a trusted and happy pet.

You see, most of the time, dogs behave inappropriately because they lack sufficient guidance. They lack the right direction and since there's no one to guide their actions, they become confused on how to respond the correct way with the environmental and social variables that they encounter.

Obedience training changes their behavior, molding them to become pleasant, reliable pets that can correspond with their owners without any issues.

So ensure you pick the right training method first. Clicker training combined with the methods and principles discussed in the Canis course below are highly recommended for beginners to advanced trainers.

Using their methods, Labrador retriever obedience training can be a whole easier to accomplish.
